Aspen Avionics, True Innovators, Present Oshkosh 2014 Special Event Coverage!

OSH2014 Sponsor: Aspen Avionics

Aspen Avionics specializes in bringing the most advanced technology and capability into general aviation cockpits.

Our products increase situational awareness and reduce pilot workload, making it even easier and safer to fly in both VFR and IFR conditions. Our philosophy is that getting the latest avionics technology shouldn’t always mean spending a lot of money—on equipment or on installation. The Evolution system enables aircraft owners to upgrade their primary flight instrument “six pack” to glass cockpit technology all at once, or in stages. Easy and inexpensive software upgrades add new features and capabilities, while future-proofing the system and protecting owners’ investments.

Aspen is pleased to offer our latest product at OSH2014 – The Evolution 1000 VFR Primary Flight Display. Aspen’s Evolution 1000 VFR PFD meets the needs of VFR pilots now and provides an easy and affordable software upgrade to an Aspen Evolution Pro PFD for IFR operations. And, at $4995 it combines situational awareness and safety into a single flat panel liquid crystal display that grows with a pilot’s evolving flight skills.

At OSH2014, Aspen is also pleased to offer a free trial of its Evolution Synthetic Vision (ESV) system with a purchase of a new EFD1000 Pro Primary Flight Display. Pilots will have the opportunity to use this safety-enhancing technology for free during their first 10-inflight hours. We think aircraft owners will appreciate test flying ESV prior to purchasing it. Once they experience the enhanced situational awareness ESV provides, we believe aircraft owners will want to keep it. Aspen’s Evolution Synthetic Vision has a built-in Terrain Warning System. Combined terrain and flight path marker coloring, caution and warning text, and an audio warning signal, alerts the pilot when terrain or obstacle hazards conflict with the flight path.

The Evolution system enables aircraft owners to upgrade their primary flight instrument “six pack” to glass cockpit technology all at once, or in stages. Easy and inexpensive software upgrades add new features and capabilities, while future proofing the system and protecting owners’ investments.

Aspen Avionics continues to innovate with products like Connected PanelTM, a revolutionary product line that provides a wireless link between certified instrument panel avionics and portable smart devices. Leveraging Aspen’s Approved Model List, Connected Pilot is available to operators and owners of over 900 makes and models of aircraft.

Led by industry veteran John Uczekaj, Aspen Avionics’ team of top talent—with deep roots in aviation product development and certification—will continue to grow the company’s business through pioneering solutions for the general aviation market.

Did-You-Know? Cool Facts About Aspen Avionics

  • Aspen was the first avionics manufacturer to sign on to support the NextGen GA Fund to help pilots finance avionics upgrades to comply with the ADS-B airspace mandate.
  • Taking the industry by storm! The Evolution Flight Display System is certified for installation in more than 900 aircraft (fixed-wing and rotor) and Aspen has a customer base of over 5500.
  • Aspen displays are now factory option on Robinson helicopters.
  • Built-in redundancy? Check! Aspen offers the only fully redundant PFD solution on the market with its Evolution 2000 or 2500 system. A single button push turns the MFD 1000 into a fully functional backup PFD.
  • Protect your glass panel investment! Aspen continually provides the latest features and functionality via easy-to-load software upgrades.

  • Holy backup battery, Batman! Aspen displays have built-in battery backup to provide 30 minutes of use in the unfortunate event of losing electrical power. Optional external battery gives you two hours of glass panel comfort.
  • Get inspired! View hundreds of Aspen installs on Aspen’s Customer Gallery or easily upload your own photos at: http://www.aspenavionics.com/customer-gallery/
  • All at once or in stages—it’s a beautiful thing. Aspen’s flexible installation options allow aircraft owners to upgrade their panels all at once or in stages.
  • Aspen plays well with others. Aspen’s full-featured glass panel displays are highly compatible with the avionics already installed in most aircraft.
  • Staying “Connected.” Aspen will continue to collaborate with other industry leaders to deliver upon our philosophy of openness and interoperability, enabling new options for owners to update their aircraft with advanced, best-of-breed avionics capabilities.
