Hartzell Propeller Receives Executive Transfusion

Advanced Air Mobility Nabs New Director to lead Tech Push

Hartzell Propeller is getting their ducks in a row for a big push as they begin courting the market for sustainable aircraft.

They have announced the appointment of Mitch Heaton as director of Business Development and New Technology, putting him in charge of propeller development for eVTOL, eSTOL, electric, hybrid and hydrogen powered aircraft.

The impending boom in Advanced Air Mobility is a good opportunity for the marque, requiring an all-new range of propellers and systems for the unique requirements of upcoming, lightweight electric aircraft. Hartzell is geared up nicely to capitalize on the gold rush, holding an array of engineers, certification skills, manufacturing technologies, and OEM relationships. Their work has generated thousands of hours of development towards electric, hybrid, and hydrogen-powered aircraft since 2019, bringing forth advancements in tooling, manufacturing processes, and lightweight materials.

“Mitch Heaton has experience leading strategy and business development across multiple industries, with aviation and aerospace often as a focus,” said Hartzell Propeller President JJ Frigge. “His efforts have included design of connection systems for aircraft, growing unmanned aerial ecosystems, and collaborating with leaders of global aerospace and defense companies and organizations,” Frigge added.
