AEA president and CEO Paula Derks and GAMA president and CEO Pete Bunce shared the stage last week at the AEA Convention for the annual "State of the Industry" address. Both Derks and Bunce delved into numerous areas of their respective segments of the aviation industry. They discussed many details, but the overall attitude expressed from both organization leaders was that the “State of the Industry” was good and prospects are looking better for the future. Aspen Avionics has announced the introduction of its integrated Evolution Angle of Attack indicator. Aspen’s solution seamlessly integrates AOA technology directly into its Evolution primary flight and multi-function displays. A new American-built light sport aircraft is on the way. Glasair Aviation’s new factory-built light sport aircraft, named the “Merlin,” took its first flight last week. This is the company’s first factory produced certified airplane.
