Attorney Injured In FL Accident Dies In Illinois

Airplane Impacted A Supermarket Near Orlando

A attorney who was seriously injured when his airplane went down in a shopping plaza in Deland, FL, has died of his injuries in Aurora, IL.

The accident occurred April 2nd. 60-year-old Kim Presberly had suffered third degree burns after his plane impacted the roof a Publix supermarket in the Orlando suburb and came to rest in the middle of the store. A passenger in the plane and three people in the store were also injured.

The Herald-News reports that Presberly was an experience pilot, but had just purchased the amateur-built Seawind 3000 (similar aircraft pictured in file photo) a few weeks before the accident. It had reportedly not been flown for three year prior to his acquisition of the airplane.

He passed away at Loyola University Medical Center Saturday afternoon.
