ATK Awarded $14.4 Million Contract To Modify Colombian Medevac Aircraft

Contract Expands ATK's Special Mission Aircraft International Portfolio

Alliant Techsystems announced this week it has been awarded a $14.4 million contract by the Colombian Air Force to modify and deliver three Medevac-capable aircraft to Colombia's Health and Social Services Ministry.

The Ministry will use the aircraft for emergency medical evacuations of both civilian and military personnel.

The three planes, one King Air 350 and two Cessna 208B Grand Caravans, are scheduled for delivery to Colombia by April 2009. They will be modified by ATK at its Special Mission Aircraft facility in Fort Worth, TX.

"ATK is expanding its special mission aircraft business by delivering affordable solutions to a growing international customer set," said Bill Kasting, Vice President and General Manager of ATK Integrated Systems, headquartered in Woodland Hills, CA.

"Our facilities are capable of quickly turning a wide variety of commercial aircraft into special mission aircraft that support intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions, as well as medical evacuation missions for customers that need advanced capabilities at an affordable price."
