Western Jet Aviation OPF Location Certified as FAA Repair Station

From Sea to Shining Sea

Western Jet Aviation's location on Florida’s Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport (OPF) has been certified an FAA Part 145 Repair Station. The facility will provide maintenance and avionics services for large-cabin business aviation aircraft.

Western Jet Aviation was acquired by StandardAero in February 2023, and is well-known for its Van Nuys, California (VNY) facility—one of the U.S.’s largest independent business jet maintenance providers specializing in Gulfstream aircraft services, including heavy airframe maintenance, structural repair, engine line maintenance, avionics installations, engineering services, and interior soft good upgrades.

Western Jet Aviation OPF maintenance supervisor Cooper Skeen stated: “We are excited to bring the exceptional level of service and support to Gulfstream operators in and around Opa-locka that customers have come to expect from our Van Nuys location.

Western Jet Aviation OPF/VNY vice-president and general manager Katie Higgins set forth expanding into the southern Florida region allows the company to extend support to extant Southern California customers requiring service while their aircraft are on the U.S.’s East Coast.

StandardAero’s Western Jet Aviation locations in Van Nuys and Opa-locka complement other StandardAero business aviation MRO sites in Springfield, Illinois; Dallas and Houston, Texas; Augusta, Georgia; and Gosport, U.K.  The company also has regional service centers located in the U.S., Brazil, U.K., South Africa, and Singapore.

StandardAero is among the world's largest independent providers of services including engine and airframe Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO), engine component repair, engineering services, interior completions and paint applications. StandardAero serves an array of customers in the business and general aviation, airline, military, helicopter, components, and energy sectors. StandardAero is owned by global investment firm Carlyle.
