Unmanned Safety Institute Launches Partner Academy Program

USI Partner Academy Provides Training And Education For Remote Pilots

The Unmanned Safety Institute (USI), a subsidiary of ARGUS International, is pleased to announce the launch of a new Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) commercial pilot training program.

The USI Partner Academy Program provides a clear and defined pathway for both ab-initio and current Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) certificate holders, to obtain the proper educational and flight training requirements to become a USI certified remote pilot-in-command (PIC). The USI Partner Academy Program combines comprehensive USI safety training curricula with Initial Qualification Training (IQT) from vetted and certified flight training organizations —giving remote pilots a turn-key option to becoming appropriately trained and certificated professional remote pilots.

“The only way the UAS commercial marketplace can achieve the aggressive growth predicted by experts is to have enough properly educated and trained pilots to perform the work safely and efficiently,” said USI co-founder and Vice President of Operations Josh Olds. “By combining an approved USI Flight Partner Academy’s hands on flight training with USI’s highly regarded safety curriculum, the result is a confident and capable remote pilot who is ready for the commercial marketplace. Consumers of commercial UAS services and Drone as a Service operators are both seeking pilots who can safely and effectively operate UAS in a recognized industry best practices environment, and are willing to send their pilots through a program such as this.”

USI has developed numerous online and in classroom educational programs for the UAS industry. These programs cover regulatory requirements, best safety practices, mission specific topics and OEM platform specific offerings. USI offers Partner Academies online and in the classroom curriculum, teaching aids, workbooks and a new 400-page textbook used in the Small UAS Safety Certification program. Learn more about the USI Partner Academy program by visiting the USI representatives at Booth #312 at Xponential 2017.
