Man Arrested In Nevada Hangar Arson

Aircraft Destroyed When Gas Bottles Explode

A 19-year old Elko (NV) man was arrested over the holiday weekend after authorities say he set fire to a hangar at the airport in Kittridge Canyon. The hangar exploded and the lone aircraft inside was destroyed.

Sandobal Ezequiel Jacobo was being held on $20,000 bond after his arrest early Saturday morning.

"It was arson," said Dave Dini, deputy state fire marshal investigator. He spoke with a reporter from the Northern Nevada Daily Free Press. "We're not exactly sure how he did it yet."

The building, approximately 1,300 square feet in size, was utterly destroyed in two explosions caused by propane and oxygen bottles stored inside. The building was owned by Dave Wallace.

Luckily, no one was hurt.
