STC for the WSI InFlight Cockpit Weather System

Saratoga First Beneficiary

WSI Corporation has completed a major milestone in the certification process for the company's industry-leading WSI InFlight™ cockpit weather briefing system. The Federal Aviation Administration issued a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for the installation of a WSI InFlight AV200 system into a Piper Saratoga (PA- 32R-301).

"The significance of WSI InFlight receiving the STC cannot be overemphasized," said Lynne Wilson, Executive Vice President of WSI's Aviation and Marine Business Group. "WSI has demonstrated that the WSI InFlight system meets the FAA's high standards for airworthiness."

WSI and its manufacturing partner, SANDIA aerospace, have submitted the application for Parts Manufacturing Authority (PMA) for WSI InFlight, the final step in certifying the system. "Upon the FAA's issuance of the PMA for the WSI InFlight system, WSI will immediately begin shipping certified AV200 systems to our authorized dealers, with preference given to fulfilling orders in our backlog."

The WSI InFlight AV200 system is designed to integrate with many popular multi-functional displays, most Electronic Flight Bags (EFBs) as well as other display devices.

"Pilots will benefit from the superior weather information provided by the WSI InFlight system. This milestone brings us close to the finish line in bringing aviation's most trusted weather products to the cockpit," said Arlo Gambell, Director of Aviation Services for WSI.

MSRP for the AV100 system is $3,495, plus installation. Data service subscriptions for both systems start at $49.95 per month.
