Audio Authority's Premier Charging Brand Finds New Sales Partner in Spokane Valley Firm

EDMO Distributors, Inc got a chance to talk up their newest addition to the catalog, Audio Authority Corp’s White Lightning Ground Power Unit.

White Lightning is Audio Authority’s newest, most modern offering in their collection of power units, boasting their own ‘SmartGPU’ specialized switching-mode power supply. The result is a 28-volt, high-current, noise-free DC power output running anywhere from 54 to 114 amps. SmartGPU ties into a mobile application to allow operators to remotely check power draw over Bluetooth. While limited to the typical transmission ranges of Bluetooth, the system adds a significant level of freedom around the hangar, whether operators are watching the data from the flight deck or from across the floor. The White Lightning GPU lets operators power up avionics for cheap pre-flight data entry or similarly affordable familiarization and training. Update the maps without the engines running, or troubleshoot electrical systems to find the ghost in the machine. 

Audio Authority will soon offer ground power units with ‘Battery MINDer’ maintenance charging from April onwards, too. That helps to minimize wear and tear (or, more accurately, sulfating) on aircraft batteries to maximize their life and output, saving money in the long run. EDMO will offer the gamut of White Lighting gear, supporting 14 and 28 volt electrical systems. Mixed-fleet operators can opt for a 14 and 28-volt combination unit to save the trouble of separate chargers. Those stuck with a niche power plug are in luck, since there’s a dozen or so oddball plugs from White Lightning. The 2-pin Piper plug adapter is probably the most normal of the bunch, but there are plugs for the Meridian on deck, too, for those in the family. One nifty little feature, to boot, is some White Lightning GPU’s dual USB-A slots on the back, handy for charging devices before or after a flight. Some models even sport removable side caddies, to lug around cables and adapters whenever they’re needed.
