Classic Aero-TV: Para-Motoring... In Miniature - Opale Paramodels RC PPG Flyers

From 2017 (YouTube Version): A Whole New Look To Model Aviation…

One of the newest types of aircraft gaining popularity in the RC world is scale model powered paragliders.

Frank Bustgens, Marketing Director for Opale Paramodels, was demonstrating the miniature powered paragliders at AMA Expo West in Ontario, CA late last year. He told Aero-News CEO and Editor in Chief Jim Campbell that the company has been making the aircraft since 2009, and was introducing them now into the U.S. Market.

Bustgens said the airfoils come in both single-layer and double-layer configurations for different flight characteristics. There are different motor sizes to allow for indoor or outdoor flight.

The aircraft can be configured with wheels or without, and the pilots come in different sizes making the weight of the aircraft variable.

The aircraft range in price from $300 to $1,000.

Bustgens says that the RC community has been very receptive to the idea of model powered paragliders and that they are very easy to fly. If a pilot knows the difference between right and left, they're well on their way to becoming a model powered paraglider pilot.
