Yingling Aviation of Kansas Acquires MRO

Operator Adds to the Corporate Family, Filling Shelves and Adding Experience

Yingling Aviation has acquired Mid-Continent Aviation Services, adding the full-service MRO to its collection of similar facilities.

The business has been in the MRO, parts, & support biz since 2010, building up a presence out of its Wichita, Kansas home. Yingling quickly made itself a fixture at the Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport, taking on jobs from tip to tail in pretty much any plane that rolls into the hangar. Their new acquisition expands its base of expertise, employees, and preparation for future work. Details surrounding the purchase are undisclosed, but it sounds as if Mid-Continent will be good to its new folks.

“We are very excited to welcome MCAS to the Yingling family and look forward to working with their seasoned group of world-class technicians,” said Bob Rasberry, CEO, Yingling Aviation. “By leveraging our collective expertise, we will accelerate our service capabilities and expand operations while continuing to deliver the best-in-class service that our customers expect from us.”

“We are excited about our partnership with Yingling,” added Dave VanderGriend, owner of Mid-Continent. “Our adjacent facilities and highly-complementary skills make sense together and will be positive for our customers and people in Wichita.”

“By joining forces with Yingling, we are creating a unique business aviation maintenance and service company,” said Jill Mitchell, an exec at Mid-Continent. “We have made a significant investment in our team and facilities and look forward to leveraging the power of our combined platform.”

“MCAS is a key building block of our strategy to create a unique, independent platform of scale providing best-in-class services to the business aviation market,” said Jon Nemo, a Managing Partner at Mid-Continent's financial backer. The firm, AE Industrial Partners, helped carry through the sale. “The addition of Mid-Continent Aviation Services underscores our commitment to continuing to grow the business with deep operating and technical expertise and increasing our footprint in a strategic location.”
