Embraer's E-Jets Accumulate One Million Flight Hours

Planemaker Touts 712 Firm Orders, 756 Options

Embraer’s worldwide fleet of E-Jets recently achieved one million flight hours, carrying passengers on five continents.

Furthermore, the four members of the E-Jets family (Embraer 170, the Embraer 175, the Embraer 190, and the Embraer 195) logged a significantly low flight cancellation rate, according to the Brazilian planemaker.

"The one million flight hours accumulated by more than 300 delivered E-Jets is a great accomplishment, just about three years after the first delivery," said Antonio Campello, Embraer Vice President, Programs – Airline Market.

With the recent sales announced at the Dubai Air Show 2007, November 11-15, the Embraer 170/190 family expanded its customer base to 45 airlines in more than 30 countries, offering distinctive passenger comfort levels, excellent performance and low operating costs.

"We are very proud of the rapid expansion of our customer base, which confirms the broad acceptance of the E-Jets family," said Mauro Kern, Embraer Executive Vice President, Airline Market. "The E-Jets are helping regional, network and low-cost carriers to increase efficiency and flexibility by replacing 50-seat jets in growing markets, right-sizing low load factor narrowbody flights, expanding into new medium density markets, and replacing older inefficient jets."

Through September 30, the E-Jets family had accumulated 712 firm orders and 756 options, totaling 1,468 aircraft. The diversified customer base indicates a trend towards an even distribution in all continents. The current customer list shows that 26% of the E-Jets are located in Europe, 19% in North America, 19% in Latin America, 19% in Asia Pacific, and 17% in the Middle East and Africa.
