IMPORTANT: eSportPlane Resource Guide Survey Data Sought

Easy Online Forms Available For Sport Plane Manufacturers And Suppliers To Be Listed In The Upcoming eSPRG

Work on the SportPlane Resource Guide is going well…

Albeit a little bit behind schedule, because as we got into this process, things became a bit more complicated simply because we learned we could do an even better job at certain aspects of this project than we thought from the beginning. They say that the enemy of true quality is the phrase "good enough" and we want to be far more than “good enough.”

At the moment; we’ve got several dozen chapters of the "How-To" sections pretty much ready to go, and close to 200 aircraft in the SportPlane directories written up. All the templates are completed, and overall design work is pretty much at a point where we feel pretty satisfied with the overall look, quality, readability, and methodology we have decided on for the guide. We are learning vast amounts as we go forward, and we have no doubt that most of the learning, we have yet to do, is ahead of us… Especially as we start implementing some of the advanced functionality that we plan to bring to the mix.

One thing we wanted to bring up, and we bring this up not just for SportPlane manufacturers and suppliers, but for the folks who utilize their services. We have developed two online survey forms for SportPlane manufacturers, with a SportPlane accessories form in the works. The SportPlane company survey and the Aircraft survey forms are complete, and can be completely accessed and completed online.

They are both available via links that are active right now at www.sportplane.com and we urge companies to take advantage of this as soon as possible -- and for those of you out in the SportPlane community, we urge you to ask the companies that you work with to do so, as well. The more data we can get without having to reach out and laboriously request it, the faster these processes go -- and (most important) the better the quality of our work.

I am amazed at how difficult it is, at times, to get some of these companies to sit down for a few minutes and fill these things out…

Editorial entries in the SportPlane Resource Guide do not cost a penny…

This is strictly part of an editorial process and it is conducted above and beyond any commercial concerns and further, as a guide that has served as a tool for sales involving thousands of airplanes, engines, avionics, and other accessories, you would think that we’d have no problem getting people to fill the surveys out.

However, that is not the case. Too many companies (but not all, thankfully) in the aviation industry have become somewhat amateurish in their approach to their marketing and communications… Especially when it comes to dealing with the media.

Granted, the quality of much of the media these days is pretty dismal… But, not in all cases, and certainly not with us.

The SportPlane Resource Guide is a proven and credible source of important information for people who buy, build, fly, and otherwise operate sport aircraft… And you have to be really foolish not to take full advantage of it as soon as possible…

Just sayin’…

So… We urge all of you in the SportPlane community, and all those who have an interest in this topic to make sure that your favorite companies get their survey forms completed as soon as possible, and thus allow us to complete what we fully expect to be, at some point in the future, an incomparable 2000-page resource.

We will have an update on when the first few hundred pages of the SportPlane Resource Guide will be going public, as well some of the schedules that we expect to meet, going forward, as we build and update it over the coming year(s).

We SO Look forward to bringing this resource to you all…
