Gogo Receives FAA STC For Ku-Satellite Connectivity Service On B777-200

Japanese Civil Aviation Bureau (JCAB) Also Certifies The Product

The FAA has granted an STC to aviation wireless company Gogo to install its Ku-satellite based connectivity service on Japan Airlines' 777-200 aircraft. The Japanese Civil Aviation Bureau (JCAB) has also certified the system. The company says the two certifications are key milestones that pave the way for launching service on JAL.

Gogo has partnered with JAL to install connectivity service and Gogo Vision - Gogo's wireless in-flight entertainment service – on JAL's entire domestic fleet.

"This is a major milestone for Gogo and a big step in clearing the way for connectivity service on JAL service," said Michael Small, Gogo's president and CEO. "We are proud to offer a consistent global connectivity experience anywhere our customers fly; whether it's on regional aircraft, domestic mainline aircraft or these Ku-equipped 777s that travel around the world."
