NBAA Announces Recipients of 2010 Schedulers & Dispatchers Scholarship Awards

Two Separate But Related Programs Promote Professional And Career Development

The NBAA and its Schedulers & Dispatchers (S&D) Committee Wednesday announced that $40,000 in scholarship funds will be awarded to 12 individuals seeking to advance their aviation careers through continuing education.

Exxon Mobil Aviation and the Avitats, Signature Flight Support, Universal Weather and Aviation Inc., Chevron Global Aviation, Air BP Aviation Services, Jeppesen DataPlan, AC-U-KWIK, and Jet Aviation FBO's and Charter Sales proudly sponsor the awards this year.

Scholarship award recipients include:

  • Cynthia Black, Citigroup Corporate Aviation
  • Lori Booth, Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company
  • Christina Chella, graduate of the University of New Haven
  • Brittany Davies, M&N Aviation
  • Peter Gianos, H.E. Butt Grocery Company Aviation Services
  • Danielle LeClair, Fargo Jet Center
  • Andrew Mawdsley, Pentastar Aviation Charter
  • Erik Perkins, ExxonMobil Oil Corporation
  • Deb Prosinski, MassMutual Financial Group
  • Melody Tharp, Desert Jet
  • Rajen Vara, American Airlines
  • Rhonda Wolfe, Human

The Schedulers & Dispatchers Training Scholarship Program, initiated in 2004, offers opportunities for scholarship recipients to gain access to hands-on teaching initiatives. Through a separate Schedulers & Dispatchers Scholarship Program, the Committee offers cash grants, which can be used for a variety of professional development initiatives. Since 1997, more than $340,000 has been awarded to schedulers and dispatchers through this program.

In addition, the committee announced ten recipients of Schedulers & Dispatchers Training Scholarships.
 
These training awards, given in conjunction with annual sponsors, promote the career development of current and aspiring schedulers and dispatchers. The Airline Dispatcher's Federation, Airline Ground Schools, Cornerstone Strategies, Corporate Flight Attendant Training by Susan C. Friedenberg, Flight Safety LaGuardia, Flight Safety Saint Louis, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, MedAire & the NBAA GA Desk proudly sponsor the awards this year.

The following are the recipients of the 2010 NBAA Schedulers & Dispatchers Training Scholarship:

The Schedulers & Dispatchers Scholarship Program offers cash grants, which can be used for a variety of professional development initiatives. A separate Schedulers & Dispatchers Training Scholarship Program, initiated in 2004, offers opportunities for scholarship recipients to gain access to hands-on teaching initiatives.
