TrueNorth Avionics Introduces Stylus Handset And Mystylus iPhone App

The First Multilingual Handset Also Features Significant Audio And Appearance Enhancements

TrueNorth Avionics has announced the introduction of its new TrueNorth Stylus handset, the industry’s first multilingual handset and the first ever to incorporate quality, performance, and personalization enhancements throughout its design. The TrueNorth Stylus features a sleek design, high definition audio, and unique personalization options with a vast choice of finishes, inlays, and themes intended to satisfy the taste and style of the most discriminating aircraft owner. The TrueNorth Stylus looks beautiful, and works beautifully. The TrueNorth Stylus is complemented by the MyStylus iPhone app, which brings the convenience and functionality of the TrueNorth Stylus to the iPhone.

“We’re seeing incredible interest in both the TrueNorth Stylus and the MyStylus app from our current customers as well as aircraft OEMs, ” said Mark van Berkel, TrueNorth’s president. “TrueNorth is already known for having the best performing handset with unmatched call quality, and the TrueNorth Stylus sets the bar even higher, combining performance with beautiful design. In addition to redefining the aircraft telephone handset by offering everything that an elite flier desires, the TrueNorth Stylus has the esthetics that complement the most luxurious aircraft cabins. We’re also proud of the fact that we developed this revolutionary handset as planned and on time, and are able to deliver it as promised by June of this year,” he added.

Designed to provide a new level of style and performance, the TrueNorth Stylus handset features a sculpted, elegant shape with a luxurious look and feel, and has been ergonomically designed for comfortable use and clear conversation. Its use of precision-machined aluminum and Corning Gorilla glass makes a bold statement of style for discriminating aircraft owners. With the TrueNorth Stylus, personalization options abound, including a choice of inlay materials that includes wood, metal, carbon fiber or even silver or gold plating. Other unique touches range from a choice of background screens, ringtones and calling features, to custom inlays of the user’s name or company logo.  Available in June of 2012, the new Stylus serves as a plug-in replacement for TrueNorth’s current handsets.

Allowing passengers to call directly from their iPhone contacts list, MyStylus supports teleconferencing and can transfer calls to other TrueNorth Stylus and MyStylus users on the aircraft, with seamless integration of dedicated and mobile devices. Additionally, MyStylus incorporates a speakerphone function and can connect using a Bluetooth headset. The first complete business aviation telecommunications app, MyStylus will be available for download from the Apple iTunes App Store in June, 2012. The MyStylus app is also being developed for other smartphone platforms.
