Universal Avionics, FreeFlight Collab On ADS-B Integration

Integration With Connected FMS And InSight Flight Deck

At this week’s National Business Aviation Association’s Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition, (NBAA-BACE) in Las Vegas, FreeFlight Systems announced that Universal Avionics has selected its Dual-Band ADS-B solution to integrate with the Universal Connected Avionics ecosystem and InSight Flight Deck.

The collaboration will bring enhanced cockpit connectivity, advanced situational awareness, and streamlined operations to pilots and operators across a broad range of aircraft.

The recent mandates issued by Congress accelerate the adoption of ADS-B IN technology for both airplanes and rotorcraft, so the integration comes at an important point when advanced cockpit solutions like these from Universal Avionics and FreeFlight Systems are more essential than ever.

Highlights of the integration include:

  • Integration with Universal Avionics’ WAAS-enabled FMS and FlightPartner Connected FMS app for increased situational awareness and flight planning flexibility.
  • Augmented InSight Flight Deck features, including embedded synthetic vision, advanced mapping, and electronic charts.
  • FreeFlight Systems’ Dual-Band ADS-B solution delivers hybrid surveillance with integrated TCAS II, providing real-time traffic, altitude, heading, speed, and distance of nearby aircraft.
  • TSO-certified, compact, and easily installed on both legacy and new aircraft, supporting future-ready compliance.

Dror Yahav, CEO of Universal Avionics said, “By partnering with FreeFlight Systems, we’re able to deliver cockpit-based ADS-B In, enhancing safety, and empowering pilots with the tools they need for efficient and confident flight operations.”

Anthony Rios, President of FreeFlight Systems added, “This integration marks a significant step forward in cockpit connectivity and safety. It is one of few solutions offered to business aviation and rotorcraft operators that provides cockpit ADS-B IN to pilots, delivering advanced situational awareness and streamlined operations—making every flight safer and more efficient.”
