Airborne 04.02.21: Air Tractor 4000, CAF Theater, Lilium 7 Seater

Last week; an Air Tractor 502XP, a single-seat agricultural aircraft, was delivered to its new owner during a send-off ceremony attended by employees and local dignitaries. It is the 4,000th airplane Air Tractor has produced since it began operations in 1972.

"After 49 years of continuous production of airplanes, all of us here are really pleased to celebrate this moment,” said Jim Hirsch, Air Tractor president. “Only eight years ago we built our 3,000th airplane; now we just surpassed number 4,000. This year we find ourselves in the fortunate position to have historically strong demand for our aircraft..." The CAF is nearing completion of a major education center at Dallas Executive Airport. The Henry B. Tippie National Aviation Education Center is a 47,000 square foot facility that comprises a Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Innovation Hangar, workshops, classrooms, and display atrium and Gallery for a selection of the CAF's collection of World War II artifacts. This week, the CAF announced plans to incorporate the Brig. Gen. Charles McGee and Don Hinz Theater as part of the Education Center. Lilium has entered into a business agreement with Qell Acquisition Corp. Upon closing of the transaction, the company will be called Lilium. In concert with the business news, Lilium is talking up their 7 seat Lilium Jet program. The Lilium 7-Seater Jet has a projected cruise speed of 175 mph at 10,000 feet and a range of 155+ miles, including reserves. All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!
