AirTran Flight Attendants Reject Tentative Contract

Tally Not Announced; It's Back to Negotiating Table

AirTran flight attendants, represented by the Association of Flight Attendants, AFL-CIO, on Wednesday rejected the five-year tentative contract agreement with the airline, that leaders of both sides had been hoping would lead to some peace.

"The ultimate decision on whether to accept or reject a tentative agreement lies in the hands of the flight attendants," said AFA AirTran Master Executive Council President Jon Edenfield. "Our members have voiced their concerns. Now we must sit back down with management to reach an acceptable agreement that better addresses the issues that came to light during this vote."

Over 1000 FAs are AFA members at Air Tran; the vote totals were not announced.
