AD: The Boeing Company Airplanes

AD NUMBER: 2019-24-15

PRODUCT: Certain The Boeing Company Model 737-900ER series airplanes.

ACTION: Final rule; request for comments.

SUMMARY: This AD requires replacement of nonconforming head strike pads with conforming head strike pads.

This AD was prompted by a report of nonconforming head strike pads on the left and right mid exit doors.

DATES: This AD is effective January 14, 2020. The FAA must receive comments on this AD by February 13, 2020.

COST: The FAA estimates that this AD affects 0 airplanes of U.S. registry. Operators may incur the following costs in order to comply with this AD:

  • Replacement - 1 work-hour × $85 per hour = $85.
  • Parts - Up to $7,080.
  • Cost per Airplane - Up to $7,165.
