Chan Named GM Of Pratt & Whitney JV

New Role For Manager

Pratt & Whitney has named Chan Kwai Wan as general manager of the Shanghai Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Engine Maintenance Co., Ltd. a joint venture of United Technologies Corp.'s Pratt & Whitney Global Service Partners and China Eastern Airlines. Chan will oversee the construction and start-up of the JV's new CFM56 engine overhaul facility, which is expected to induct its first engine in late 2008.

The manager has held a number of leadership positions in aircraft engine component repair and overhaul throughout his 25 year career in the aerospace industry. With 25 years of experience in the aerospace industry, Chan has held a number of leadership positions in aircraft component repair and overhaul sectors. Chan's most recent role as lean manager for Pratt & Whitney engine overhaul centers, and led the operational transition of six Pratt & Whitney worldwide overhaul and repair businesses.

The Pratt & Whitney manager has both a Master of Business Administration from the State University of New York and earned a Master of Science from Sheffield Hallam University in the United Kingdom. Pratt & Whitney Global Service Partners is considered a complete service provider for by Pratt & Whitney, International Aero Engines, General Electric, Rolls-Royce and CFMI manufactured engines.
