Western Aircraft Breaks Ground For New Additions

Growth Driven By Tax Exemption Bill Passed Last Year

Thanks in part to the support of the Idaho legislature and Boise Airport, Western Aircraft, a Greenwich AeroGroup company, has broken ground on a 26,000 square-foot expansion on the company’s 18 acre leasehold.

“This growth has been driven in large part by the sales tax exemption bill passed in 2012,” said President of Western Aircraft Jeff Mihalic.  “It has opened the door for us to expand our capabilities and market reach and increase our footprint here in Boise.”

“I’ve met with Western Aircraft many times and I can tell you this company is thriving,” said Boise Mayor David H. Bieter. “For elected officials, it’s our duty to create the environment where companies like Western Aircraft can continue to grow and create the jobs that our community needs. My hat is off to both Western Aircraft and the Boise Airport for creating the perfect example of how public/private partnerships can benefit taxpayers and business alike.”

Western Aircraft’s expansion is expected to take six months to complete and will accommodate an expanded parts facility and support shops for the company’s service operations.
