Genesys Aerosystems Delivers 1000th Autopilot

Moog Company's 2018 S-Tec 3100 Proven Popular

Genesys Aerosystems (part of infamous Moog, Inc.) announced the recent shipment of its 1000th S-Tec 3100 autopilot since the model's release in 2018. Certified for multiple fixed and rotary wing aircraft, over 200 in total, the 2 axis (and 3, where appropriate for the installation) autopilot has given owners and operators a bevy of enhanced, modern features most often found in more expensive systems.

The S-Tec includes automatic trim, envelope protection, one-button straight and level recovery, indicated airspeed hold, altitude preselect, and alerting capability for inappropriate flight conditions. The autopilot can be used in the traditional modes, coupled to GPS, VOR, LOC, HDG, LPV, FMS, as well as vertical navigation for GPS, LPV, GS, VS, or ALT. In the mixed-panel aftermarket ecosystem, owners have found the occasional lack of coherence between makes and models, not a concern with the S-Tec. It supports most 3rd party EFIS displays, as well as integration of its internal ADHRS should an EFIS be absent.

The S-Tec 3100 is compatible with a number of common aircraft, including the Aviat A-1C, Beechcraft Bonanzas, Barons, King Air 1900s, Cessna Twins, De Havilland Twin Otters, Pilatus Pc-6, Twin Commanders, and some Pipers. When installed on rotary aircraft, the S-Tec is capable of Helicopter stability augmentation and autopilot.

“We are excited that so many aircraft owners have selected the latest Genesys autopilot in an effort to bring more safety enhancing features to their flying,” said Jamie Luster, Director of Sales and Marketing for Genesys Aerosystems. “Genesys is committed to continued advancement of our autopilot features and we value the feedback received from current customers to assist us in prioritizing our research and development efforts.”
