NBAA Maintenance Management Conference Sets Records

Paves Way For New Event Format In 2017

The NBAA's 2016 Maintenance Management Conference (MMC2016), held this year in Kansas City, MO, had a record 190 exhibit booths, representing more than a 20 percent growth over the 2015 event. More than 900 attendees represented 41 states and the District of Columbia, as well as six foreign countries.

“The 2016 NBAA Maintenance Management Conference continued the tradition of high-quality educational programming in the areas of leadership, regulatory updates, personal development, business management and the latest in technology,” said Eli Cotti, CAM, NBAA’s director of technical operations and staff liaison to NBAA’s Maintenance Committee.

“The Maintenance Committee works hard to build an agenda around these core domains and bring the top experts in the industry to share their experience with attendees,” he added. “MMC2016 included very engaging, interactive sessions with presenters coaching and mentoring attendees, who left the conference with real-world skills and tools to improve their flight departments.”

During the conference, NBAA announced the recipients of the NBAA Maintenance Committee’s Maintenance Technical Reward and Career Scholarships (TRACS). These scholarships will enable 45 maintenance professionals to attend aircraft model-specific courses at training centers. Special charitable events at MMC2016 – including a golf tournament, silent auction and raffle for a custom toolbox from Snap-On Tools – helped support the TRACS program. Learn more about the scholarship winners.

“We congratulate this year’s TRACS scholarship recipients, and appreciate the NBAA Maintenance Committee Members, attendees, sponsors and exhibitors who helped raise funds to support this important program,” said Cotti.

“The NBAA Maintenance Management Conference continues to grow, and is the must-attend annual event for those engaged in the maintenance function of business aviation,” said Nathan Winkle, vice chairman of NBAA’s Maintenance Committee. “As we continue to grow, so does our responsibility to ensure we are giving back. This was clearly evident through this year’s TRACS scholarships, which have a program value of nearly half a million dollars.”

NBAA will present its next Maintenance Conference from May 2 to 4, 2017, in West Palm Beach, FL. As part of the Maintenance Committee’s work to support the continuing development of all maintenance professionals, the 2017 Maintenance Conference will feature a new format, providing dynamic education sessions and career-development opportunities for flight department personnel at any stage in their career – not just those in management.
