A common and dangerous enemy has brought a group of 35 general, state, and national general aviation organizations to band together to oppose ATC privatization.

The groups reiterate that GA is an important American industry... generating over $219 billion in total economic output. "After a thorough and detailed review of Chairman Bill Shuster’s (R-PA) proposal, HR 2997, the AIRR Act of 2017, which would remove our nation’s air traffic control operations from the FAA, we have concluded that these reforms will produce uncertainty and unintended consequences without achieving the desired outcomes," the document states. If you were one of those hobby drone or model aircraft pilots who were grumbling about having to register your aircraft with the FAA a year or so ago, there is now a way for you to remove your information from the FAA's registration list ... AND get your $5 back. But it's not as easy as it was to register, and it will take some time to have your information purged from the list as it apparently all has to be done by hand through the USPS. OK... we warned you this was going to happen... A shortage of pilots qualified to fly Q400
turboprop aircraft has forced the cancellation of hundreds of flights by Horizon Air this summer. The regional carrier is part of the Alaska Air Group. Horizon cancelled more than 300 flights in June because they did not have a sufficient number of pilots to fly the routes. All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!
