Unique Frasca Sim Coming To Seattle School

Galvin Flight School orders Frasca 142 with dual IFR GPS'

The Galvin Flight School will be taking delivery of a Frasca 142 simulator in early June 2004, the only one of its kind.  The Frasca allows pilots the option of using a KLN-94 or Garmin 430 GPS.

"We struggled with the GPS decision on the simulator," notes Nick Frisch, Galvin Flight School Manager. " We have a fleet of airplanes equipped with IFR GPS's and we've considered the GPS the primary navigation system for several years.  But with the Cessna 172's and 182's having the KLN-94's and the 172P's, Seminoles, Bonanza and Diamonds being Garmin-equipped, we faced a real dilemma in how to equip the simulator.  The way you train is the way you fly, so we wanted to offer familiar GPS equipment in the simulator."

Frasca sales representative Chuck Robards and Vice President John Frasca were sympathetic to Frisch's concerns.  "Nick was persistent in asking for 2 GPS's, and we found a way to deliver," says Chuck. "We are very pleased to be able to offer this configuration as an offer to our customers."

The Galvin Flight School is a Part-141 and VA-approved training facility, and plans to use the simulator in instrument, multiengine and ATP training.
