Aspen Avionics President Launches Blog

John Uczekaj Installs Three-Display Evolution System In His Diamond DA40

Aspen Avionics President and CEO John Uczekaj will be using a blog to record his own experience as an Aspen customer, having recently installed a three-display Evolution Flight Display System in his personal airplane, a 2002 Diamond DA40. “I know that many aircraft owners are wary of the cost and time involved in a panel upgrade, and so I have documented and will be sharing the details of my own installation in my own airplane,” says Uczekaj. “Being both new to aircraft ownership and to flying, I look forward to sharing my thoughts and experiences.”

The three-display package in Uczekaj's Diamond DA40 includes an Aspen Evolution EFD1000 Pro PFD, an Evolution EFD1000 MFD and an Evolution 500 MFD. "This is a great airplane to begin with, but now with my new Aspen panel it is an amazing airplane," Uczekaj said. "As a new pilot, the Aspen panel will bring a much higher level of confidence and situational awareness to all of my flights."

“My installation was done at Santa Fe Aero Services,” Uczekaj added. “This shop has remarkable capabilities to tailor an installation and is a pleasure to work with. Their professional approach to my installation and their understanding of our products and my needs were a great relief to what can only be described as an overwhelming experience for someone, like me, who was doing all of this for the first time.”

Uczekaj will be updating the blog with comments and photos on how the Aspen installation went and will also provide regular first-hand updates of his flying experiences with the Aspen system.
