EASA Awards STC To MT-Propeller For Cessna T303 Crusader

Four-Blade MTV-14 Approved For Installation In Europe

EASA has granted an STC (10060646) to MT-Propeller Entwicklung GmbH for the installation of its next generation 4-blade scimitar composite propeller on Cessna T303 Crusader aircraft powered by the TCM (L)TSIO-520-AE Engines. The company says an FAA STC is in the works.

MT-Propeller President Gerd Muehlbauer says that the installation will save about 18 pounds. The company says performance improvements include a reduction of takeoff distance over a 50-foot obstacle by 10 percent and a 2-3 knot increase in speed, depending on power settings.

Ground clearance is improved for less tip erosion.

The STC complies with the strict German noise regulations 2010– "Landeplatz Lärmschutz Verordnung" for unrestricted airport operations in Germany and other European Countries.

The MT-Propeller natural composite blades provide significant inside and outside noise reduction, the company says. They have no life limitation, and are repairable in case of damage by foreign objects.

They also provide best vibration damping characteristics for almost vibration free propeller operation and have bonded on stainless steel leading edges for best erosion protection of the blades, the company says.
