Classic Aero-TV: Up Close And Personal - The Aeroshell Aerobatic Team at Oshkosh

From 2014 (YouTube Version): One Of The Airshow World's Pre-Eminent Formation Teams Chats About The State Of The Industry

At EAA AirVenture 2014, ANN News Editor Tom Patton gets the inside scoop about the AeroShell Aerobatic Team.

Patton talked with AeroShell acrobatic pilot Steve Gustafson to find out how things were going at AirVenture this year and to get a little background information about the team.

In this video you’ll see Gustafson address such issues as airshow safety and the general state of the airshow business. He acknowledges that accidents do occur but that it’s blown out of proportion. Gustafson responded to Tom’s question about the health of the industry in a way that indicated things are going pretty well for the AeroShell team.

Gustafson talks about flying the T-6 and, as could be predicted, he said it’s a lot of fun to fly. Despite its appearance of being a big heavy airplane, he tells us it’s actually light on the controls. Gustafson said his father bought this airplane in the 1960s, and in the video he tells you how much it cost then... they’re a bit more costly now.

As the interview progresses the video provides a good look at the AeroShell Aerobatic Team in action. This video provides insight to the airshow industry while you enjoy the show.
