Reaffirms Relationship With ALAT And Highlights TBM’s Role
The Daher Aircraft Division participated in celebrating the 70th Anniversary in September of the French Army Light Aviation (ALAT) as it showcased the service’s utilization of the company’s TBM turboprop aircraft in transportation, liaison, and support missions.
The festivities included a symposium and flyby at Pau in southwestern France where the Army’s 5th Combat Helicopter Regiment is based. In attendance were representatives of France’s armed forces, government officials, and families of ALAT personnel. The French Army Chief of Staff General Pierre Schill oversaw the events.
Daher took the opportunity to highlight its maintenance, engineering, logistics, and support services for military operators and also exhibited its Kodiak 100 utility aircraft. The company’s TBM 700s are flown by the ALAT and eight of them are based at Rennes-Saint-Jacques Airport and operated by the Army’s Aircraft Detachment. The fleet is maintained by Daher under a full operational support contract renewed in 2021 for the fourth time for another 7 years.
Nicolas Chabbert, CEO of Daher Aircraft commented, "Daher was honored to participate in the ALAT’s 70th anniversary because of the close ties we have with the French Army Aviation – which is one of the most active users of our TBM airplanes. The celebration also was an opportunity to reiterate our commitment to ensuring the maintenance of the ALAT’s TBM fleet in operational conditions for flight safety and aircraft availability, as well as our capability to meet its future operational needs.”
The ALAT was formed in 1954, and was the successor to France’s light artillery observation aviation.
