United Flight Skids Off Runway At Houston

No Injuries Reported In Runway Excursion

A United Airlines flight has skidded off the runway at Houston's Bush Intercontinental Airport, according to a spokesman for the Houston Airport System.

Bill Begley told the Houston Chronicle that United Flight 1545 was landing at Bush after a flight from Las Vegas. It was attempting to turn from the runway to the taxiway, but turned too wide and its tires got stuck in the grass along the runway.

All 167 passengers and six crew were evacuated from the Boeing 737.

The FAA said that the plane's nose gear left the pavement and became mired in the grass, The runway was closed while the crews cleared the scene.

Officials said no flights were delayed as a result of the incident.
