Bristow and Leonardo Finalize Long-Term Agreements

Providing Support And Training For AW-139 And AW-189 Helicopters

Bristow Group and Leonardo jointly announced they have finalized a series of long-term agreements that will enhance global fleet support and training that extends into the next decade for the AW-139 and AW-189 helicopter fleets.

The agreement enables enhanced efficiency for maintenance and operations, and reinforce the strong relationship between the companies while providing continued support for operations in key markets.

The package includes the following highlights applicable to Bristow’s global fleet:

  • Enhanced Power-by-the-Hour agreements for search and rescue operations and offshore energy services helicopters.
  • Long-term AW-189 simulator training agreement in Aberdeen, Scotland for pilot training needs.
  • Introducing an AW-139 full-flight simulator in Aberdeen in 2026 for supporting fleet operations in the North Sea.
  • Enhanced global fleet support agreement covering inventory management, performance indicators, training, and other Leonardo services.

Bristow plans to introduce four new AW-189 helicopters, part of an order earlier this year, into its offshore services businesses, scheduled to enter into service in 2025 and 2026.

Stu Stavley, Bristow’s Chief Operating Officer for Offshore Energy Services said, “These additions align with Bristow’s strategic objectives to enhance operational capability and meet contractual demands. The finalization of these long-term support and training agreements will support Bristow’s ability to meet the evolving needs of both our Government Services and Offshore Energy Services operations.”
