Innovation Center To Host Seven Emerging Tech Companies At AirVenture

Pavilion Exhibits New Concepts In Aircraft, Power Systems, And More

Seven emerging tech companies will be showcasing their newest ideas for aviation this summer at THE place to present innovation – EAA AirVenture Oshkosh – as part of the event’s EAA Innovation Center. The exhibits range from new aircraft designs to the latest in power systems and 3D printing for airplane parts.

These concepts are the latest in what has been a long tradition of showing the latest flight technology during the Experimental Aircraft Association’s annual fly-in convention. EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2014, the 62nd annual EAA convention, is July 28-August 3 at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

“For more than a half-century, the latest in aircraft design and technology has been introduced to the flying community and the public at the EAA fly-in,” said Jack Pelton, EAA’s chairman of the board. “EAA reached out to nearly 40 inventors and emerging companies, inviting them to send ideas on what they’d like to showcase at Oshkosh this year. These seven were selected as among the best and most intriguing of the hundreds of concepts that come from bright minds in the aviation community each year.”

The Innovation Center will be located in EAA College Park, just northwest of the FAA control tower, and is sponsored by the National Air Traffic Controllers Association, which will be exhibiting the next generation of air traffic control and have air traffic control and control tower simulators.

Among the companies exhibiting the Innovation Center are:

  • Elytron Aircraft
  • Engine Intensive Care Systems
  • MakerPlane Inc.
  • Malloy Aeronautics LTD
  • MVP Aero
  • O’Neill Power Systems
  • Shapeways 3D Printing Marketplace and Community

EAA College Park was created in 2012 as a unified site where aviation education programs, as well as other organizations and companies, could present the options available to those seeking careers and additional information about aviation opportunities. The Innovation Center was moved to College Park this year after a successful Oshkosh debut in 2013.
