Waterloo Wellington Flight Center To SOAR With Air Georgian Limited

Provides A Path For Instructors To Be Hired As First Officers By The Carrier

SOAR, Air Georgian's innovative program for aviation career awareness, recruitment and retention continues to grow with the addition of Waterloo Wellington Flight Center (WWFC) to its flight school program. The agreement provides a gateway for WWFC flight instructors to be hired by Air Georgian as First Officers.

SOAR (Sharing Opportunities for Advancement and Reward) has been designed to achieve three initiatives: create awareness of careers in aviation at the pre-career decision making phase, work collaboratively and respectively with flight schools and 703, 704 operators to recruit pilots into Air Georgian, and provide career fulfillment and advancement opportunities for the company's employees.

WWFC enters SOAR through Air Georgian's ATAC member program, which is open to all ATAC member airlines and flight schools. Air Georgian's program is designed to provide its partners with highly predictable, timed attrition with greatly extended notice periods, while at the same time providing their employees visibility regarding career progression with an entry point to the Air Canada system. With the addition of WWFC, the list of ATAC member partners continues to grow even ahead of the program's official launch in November 2017.

"Air Georgian and Waterloo Wellington Flight Center have always had a close working relationship and SOAR only strengthens this with an official partnership. We have hired many skilled instructors from WWFC over the years and their partnership in SOAR will continue this trend while providing ample transition notice to WWFC and mentorship for the progressing instructor. We look forward to working with WWFC and continuing to expand on the SOAR initiative," said Jeslene Bryant, Air Georgian's Human Resources Business Partner.
