Drone Flying Over Falcons Practice Field 'Grounded'

Neighbor Flew Aircraft During Team Workouts

This isn't particularly surprising. As the Atlanta Falcons prepared for the Super Bowl Sunday at Rice University's practice field, someone living near the school decided to try to get a peek at the team as they practiced.

Television station WREG reports that there was extra security around the field, which is shielded from view by hedges and surrounded by a high fence. But it is next to a residential area, and one of the residents living nearby decided to launch his drone for a view of the field.

Security "grounded" the drone, though the report does not indicate how it was done or if it was damaged. It was described by NFL.com as a "brief security heads-up."

It was also not reported what charges the drone operator might face, if any.
