Again?! NY-Bound JetBlue Flight Makes Emergency Landing

No, This Isn't Yesterday's Headline

Less than a day after a JetBlue Airbus A320 made a (perfect) emergency landing in the spotlight of live international television coverage, another JetBlue aircraft has made another emergency landing -- this time at New York's JFK International.

Flight 92 apparently suffered a flap malfunction on approach to JFK from Tampa. The pilot declared an emergency because he "received an indication the (flaps) were locked," she said. "Following procedure, the pilot declared an emergency landing," according to JetBlue spokeswoman Jenny Dervin.

The aircraft landed without incident and passengers were bused to the gate. The airline described the incident as "very minor."

It came, however, just one day after JetBlue Flight 292 made an emergency landing at LAX after its nosegear failed to retract on a flight from Burbank to JFK. The nose wheel was cocked at a 90-degree angle to the fuselage. The pilot made a picture-perfect landing, shown live on several television networks -- and to the passengers watching satellite TV aboard the aircraft itself. No one was injured in the incident.
