Kitfox Builders Get A Little Good News: Sport Plane LLC Becomes Rotax OEM

Sport Plane LLC is helping abanadoned Kitfox builders with technical support and parts to complete their projects.

Now as an OEM for Rotax Engines, they are able to supply the engine configured for the Kitfox install. SP LLC is also working closely with Eric Tucker of Kodiak Research Ltd and the EAA on a preferred pricing program to help those builders who prepaid for engines and did not receive that engine. "If we can put together a bulk one-time buy, we will extend a special price."

"The preferred pricing will depend upon the size of that one-time buy, as Rotax may also participate with a price break," Tucker said. "We realize that builders eligible for the program may be reluctant to spend more money for an engine they've already paid for. But at least it gives them a discount option on a new engine that otherwise would not be available. However, escrow accounts would be used to safeguard a customer's funds."

"If there are people out there who just do not have the financial wherewithal to take advantage at this time, we may be able to help them somewhere down the road, but it won't be to the same discount level, as the discount will be leveraged by the size of this one-time engine buy. I would ask people to keep their paperwork and documents if they feel they may wish to take advantage of any future discounts."

Those that were affected are encouraged to contact Sport Plane LLC by December 16th if interested in taking part of this program. They have also established relationships with other vendors to help provide parts to complete Skystar projects.
