Army Aviation Scholarship Receives Multiple Donations

Donaldson Foundation, EADS-NA Make Gifts To Assist Education

The Donaldson Foundation, on behalf of Donaldson Company, Inc., has donated $15,000 to the Army Aviation Association of America (AAAA) Scholarship Foundation. The funds will be used to establish an endowed scholarship at AAAA’s Lindbergh chapter in St. Louis. The scholarship will award a minimum of $1,000 annually to support the college education of selected students.

“The Donaldson team is committed to the entire rotorcraft industry. Our military aviators and their families are especially deserving of support and thanks from all Americans,” said Mike Scimone, president of Donaldson’s St. Louis office. “We look forward to continuing our relationship with AAAA and seeing our donation at work.”

According to Kristine Graham, Donaldson Foundation President, “This scholarship funding aligns well with the Foundation’s mission to support educational initiatives. It is especially meaningful to us considering the sacrifices currently being made by so many military families.”

EADS North America, meanwhile, said Monday that it has contributed $10,000 to the AAAA educational scholarship fund. The latest contribution brings the company's contribution total to $85,000 for the EADS North America Distinguished Scholar Endowment. In addition, it recognizes EADS North America as a major corporate donor to the scholarship program.

In presenting the donation, Dave Oliver, Chief Operating Officer of EADS North America, said, "We are pleased to once again show our support for the Army Aviation Association of America's scholarship program. Creating educational opportunities for AAAA members and their immediate family members is of great importance to our company."

The AAAA is a national organization with 70 local and regional chapters and more than 17,000 members who support U.S. Army Aviation soldiers and families. The AAAA Scholarship Foundation provides college grants and interest-free loans for members and their families and the families of deceased AAAA members. Since its start in 1963, the AAAA Scholarship Foundation has awarded more than $4 million to more than 2,000 qualified applicants.
