FATA Lobbies FL Governor Scott On Aviation Tax Bill

Urges The State's Chief Executive To Sign The Measure

The Florida Aviation Trades Association has sent a letter to FL. Governor Rick Scott urging him to sign a bill passed in the recently completed legislative session which provides tax relief to companies performing maintenance work on GA airplanes.

"The passage of HB7087 represents a great opportunity to continue the rebuilding of the economy of Florida," the letter states. "The wide ranging provisions will bring much needed job growth and business development to our state.

"This Bill has provisions that are imperative to business growth in our State. The general aviation industry is pleased that legislation introduced on our behalf is included in HB7087. As an important Florida industry that has seen tough years of late we welcome the help provided therein.

"We ask that you sign HB7087."

The letter is signed by FATA president Sandy Showalter. Governor Scott has not indicated whether he will approve the legislation.
