Getting There Can Be Half The Fun ... Even For Prom

High School Senior Hires A Helicopter Instead Of A Limo

A central New York high school senior wanted to do something he'd always remember for his high school prom ... so he eschewed the normal limo ride to the big dance and hired a helicopter instead.

For his $390 dollars, or reportedly about the cost of hiring a chauffeured limousine for the evening, Kyle Huff and his date, Amanda Marcely got an hour-long tour of Skaneateless, Cazenovia, Manlius, Jamesville, and Syracuse ... eventually touching down at about 1915 at the LaFayette Country Club.

Syracuse.com reports that the helicopter Huff hired belonged to Tender Loving Care Medical Services. He said he negotiated the company down from its original quote of $1,300 for the ride.

Huff said it wasn't that he was trying to outdo anybody, it was just to do something "outside the norm" for his senior prom. Those who witnessed Huff and Marcely's entrance would probably agree that in that, he succeeded.
