Introducing President Keith Bagley
By Tom Woodward
Hartzell Engine Technologies is no longer just a propeller company.
With the retirement of Mike Disbrow at the end of 2017 and the installation of Keith Bagley as President, Hartzell is diversifying their business plan to incorporate many aviation related products. In the last couple of years Hartzell has made some strategic purchases of companies to round out their core product.
They include Sky-Tec starters, Plane Power Alternators, Janitrol Aero Heaters, Aeroforce Turbochargers, and Fuelcraft fuel pumps. To maintain customer loyalty for these products they have retained their name brands for easy recognition.
All product lines web sites contain:
- Model listings
- Application Guides
- Where to buy Info
- Service Information (Bulletins and Letters)
- FAA Approvals (PMA, STC)
President Disbrow covered the social media changes that have been made so customers can directly search anyone of the products mentioned above as well as through the Hartzell web page.
One of the more exciting announcements was the achievement of FAA approval for terminating action AMOC for the Southwind heater AD. If you have one of these units you know the time and money consuming process of complying with that AD. This termination of this AD applies to 8000 Series heaters, which affects nearly 10,000 Cessnas, BN-2, and BE18 aircraft. Hartzell has also been working closely with Tecnam and Cirrus aircraft, which have selected Plane Power alternators and Sky-Tec starters for their engines. In addition Lycoming has selected the Fuelcraft 200F-5007 fuel pump for the Tecnam P2012.
On line Hartzell has posted several instructional videos, some examples are:
- Turbo bearing inspection video
- New Heat Soak Back Video
