Dynon Unveils New Training Academy for SkyView HDX

Guide Aims to Help Customers Take Advantage of their Avionics

Dynon Avionics recently introduced its new training Academy to pair with its SkyView HDX interface. The panel is its flagship design and is geared toward modern light sport and experimental aircraft.

The series gives step-by-step guidance, covering both fundamental operations and advanced features of the system. Episodes are released biweekly and users can subscribe to be emailed when new lessons come out.

The program aims to enhance pilot confidence when flying behind a Dynon panel and ease the transition to modern instruments.

The SkyView HDX system is Dynon’s flagship avionics suite, known for its vibrant HD displays, efficient design, and intuitive controls. It is now available in 7", 10", and 12" sizes. The screen offers edge-to-edge touch operation, higher brightness settings, anti-reflective coatings, backlighting, and wide viewing angles for further accessibility. These displays integrate seamlessly into short aircraft panels and are compatible with all existing SkyView modules, enabling drop-in upgrades.

The SkyView HDX system is fully customizable, allowing up to three displays per panel and modular expansion based on customer requirements. Features include a high-resolution engine monitor instrument band, icon-driven menus, and touch navigation for a streamlined user experience.

The Academy's first episode, "SkyView HDX Fundamentals: Display Pages and Layouts," introduces pilots to the Primary Flight Display (PFD), engine monitoring, and mapping features. Future videos will cover topics like touchscreen gestures, Direct-To navigation, and the NEAREST function, which provides quick access to nearby airports, waypoints, and frequencies. This comprehensive training program is tailored for pilots of all experience levels, though those new to glass cockpits will likely appreciate it most.

With the product being relatively new, Dynon is offering a Trade-Up program for pilots looking to update their SkyView Classic, Touch, or SE displays. Participants can receive credits up to $1,000 for 10" displays or $700 for 7" displays toward HDX systems.
