Viking Appoints New Vice-President, International Sales & Marketing

Evan McCorry To Lead Twin Otter Series 400 Global Sales Effort

Viking Air Limited of Victoria, British Columbia has appointed Evan McCorry to the new role of Vice-President, International Sales & Marketing. In this position, McCorry will be responsible for the management and continued development of the international sales and marketing campaign for Viking and the Twin Otter Series 400 aircraft.

McCorry (pictured) transitions to Viking from the award-winning role of Vice-President of Latin American Sales at Beechcraft Corporation. He also held senior management positions at Raytheon Aircraft/Hawker Beechcraft, NMF America, and Bombardier Aerospace/Learjet. Throughout his career, McCorry has mastered a wide spectrum of aerospace functions, including flight testing and certification activities, supply chain development and manufacturing, program management, quality, engineering, tooling, and global sourcing.

“We are pleased to welcome Evan to this dynamic role, where his combination of positive energy and process-driven focus will be a welcome addition to Viking’s executive team,” stated David Curtis, Viking president & CEO. “Evan’s depth of experience in several different aspects of the aerospace industry will be instrumental to our expanding product development and international sales programs.”

As an integral member of the executive team reporting directly to the CEO, McCorry is responsible for all customer facing activities, including building, managing, and leading the direct sales and marketing team, as well as developing the international dealer/broker network (“the International Sales Team”) to support the international sales objectives.

McCorry’s organization will manage relationships with international clients, and will enhance Viking’s strategic decisions by developing key market intelligence derived from interactions with clients, prospects, and other market players. This effort will be initially focused on the DHC-6 Series 400 Twin Otter, however will expand alongside Viking’s product offerings.

With Viking aircraft sold and delivered to 23 countries worldwide, the Series 400 Twin Otter is confirmed as the best-selling next generation turbo-prop aircraft in its class. Viking provides OEM support for the worldwide fleet of de Havilland legacy aircraft (DHC-1 through DHC-7) and forms part of Westerkirk Capital Inc, a Canadian private investment firm with substantial holdings in the hospitality, aviation, and real estate sectors.
