Starlight First UAS ICAS Platinum Pinnacle Award Winner

Takes Prize For Performances Throughout The Year

Starlight Aerial Productions, an innovative company in drone light show performances, has made history by becoming the first performer to utilize unmanned aerial systems (UAS) to win the prestigious Platinum Pinnacle Award for Performers presented at the 2024 International Council of Air Shows (ICAS) Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada.

This is the first time in the history of the award that it was granted to an unmanned aerial performer and in doing so, sets a trailblazing precedent in the air show industry.

ICAS presents the Platinum Pinnacle Award to honor excellence in performance based on Creativity and Innovation, Technical Excellence, Audience Impact, and Industry Contribution.

Starlight Aerial Productions is being recognized for their performances throughout the year, and this award is a seminal event in the industry by celebrating how artistry converges with technology through the use of drones to present mind-blowing entertainment at air shows.

The company’s performance at EAA AirVenture, “Women in Aviation and Dreamers” was storyboarded entirely in-house. It was a national sensation that blended mesmerizing visuals with empowering themes and showcased their innovative ideas. Starlight’s other 2024 shows included Sun ‘n Fun, Thunder Over Louisville, California Capital Air Show, and Wings Over Batavia.

Matthew Quinn, owner of Starlight Aerial Productions said, “We are truly humbled and honored to receive the Platinum Pinnacle Award. To be the first and only unmanned aerial performer in history to achieve this recognition is a testament to our team’s dedication and passion. It highlights how innovation and creativity can open new doors in an industry rooted in tradition. This is not just a win for us but for the evolution of airshows worldwide.”
