Air Canada Q400 Throws Prop

One Passenger Slightly Injured When Blade Went Through The Cabin

An Air Canada Jazz Bombardier Q400 lost a prop November 6th, injuring one passenger and causing extensive damage to the airplane.

The passenger was struck on the head when the prop went through the fuselage of the airplane, but her injuries were not considered life-threatening. No one else on board the aircraft was injured according to a report from ABC news.

The plane reportedly blew a tire on takeoff, and the pilot was making an emergency landing when the incident occurred with the propeller.

The passenger, Christina Kurylo, told CTV Edmonton on Saturday that the prop "came crashing through my window and I got hit on the head." She said it knocked her glasses off and left her dazed, but otherwise with only a few bumps on her head.

The incident is under investigation.
