CPS To Host Rotax 912-914 Repair Seminar

Four Stroke Course To Be Held In August

Starting Tuesday August 7, California Power Systems (CPS) will host a Rotax 912-914 Mechanics Seminar covering all aspects of four cycle installation, repair, rebuild, and heavy maintenance. Eric Tucker, Rotax factory Trained Technician, will conduct this hands-on rebuild of the Rotax 912.

According to CPS, subjects covered include:

  • Rotax history and development in the aircraft engine market.
  • In depth discussions on four stroke engine theory and design.
  • Rotax engine designations and identification.
  • Detailed explanation of all scheduled maintenance tasks.
  • Bing Carburetion theory and maintenance on Rotax.
  • Ducati ignition systems theory and maintenance.
  • Gearbox inspection and maintenance.
  • Complete disassemble and inspection of Rotax 912 thru heads pistons, and cylinders.

Qualifies students for heavy maintenance up to but not including crankcase splitting.

Attendees will also participate in a complete engine rebuild, disassembly and discuss correct procedures and maintenance for the 4 stroke series.

Participants will be supplied all Rotax Parts, Service, and Service Bulletin Manuals, as well as all other applicable printed material. While the seminar is open to anyone, the 20-hour course can qualify companies to be eligible for Rotax Repair Station status.

The expected cost of the three-day course is $550.
