United Pilots Elect New Union Chair

Master Executive Council Post Runs Through February 2026

Capt. Brian Noyes was elected as Chair of the United Master Executive Council of the Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l (ALPA) on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, and his term will run through February 28, 2026.

Capt. Noyes joined United Airlines in 1995 and is currently based in Houston as a 787 Captain. He has served in several roles in ALPA including most recently as the United Airlines MEC Vice Chair.

He previously served on the Central Air Safety Committee as the Chair of the Crew Rest Oversight Committee. He also served as the ALPA-International Flight Time Duty Time Chair, and as a member of the Reduced Crew Operations Committee, Co-Chair of the IFALPA Fatigue Management Working Group, the United Airline MEC System Schedule Committee’s FRMS Working Group Lead, and other posts.

Capt. Noyes said, “I’m honored and grateful to have the chance to serve as your MEC Chair. Together, we’ll continue setting the bar for aviation safety, professionalism, and unity. I’m committed to representing and supporting this dedicated group of pilots—every step of the way.”

The election of Capt. Noyes creates a vacancy in the MEC Vice Chair position that will be filled in the MEC meeting in April.

Capt. Nic Harwood and Capt. Andrew Minarcik, MEC Secretary and MEC Treasurer, respectively, will continue to complete their two-year terms along with Capt. Noyes.
