TrueNorth Announces Trade-Up Program For MagnaStars, Other Phones

Operators May Receive Up To $10,000 In Trade With Simphone Purchase

Even the most well-heeled bizjet operators are looking for deals in these trying economic times... and here's one they may jump on. TrueNorth Avionics has announced a "trade-up" program for aircraft operators, offering a bonus of up to $10,000 off the purchase of a qualifying Simphone airborne telecommunications system with the trade of their current MagnaStar, AirCell, Flitefone or other airborne telephone system.

Valid for systems ordered between May 1 and October 31, 2008, the TrueNorth trade-up program offers a bonus of $10,000 on the purchase of a Simphone Chorus system, and $7,500 off the purchase of a Simphone Duo system. Both products are single-LRU systems that let operators manage all their airborne communications -- Satcom, fax, broadband data, cabin intercom -- through an ultra-quiet, easy-to-use menu-driven handset.

Both the Chorus and Duo also feature all-digital PBX and built-in, dual-channel worldwide Iridium® Satcom, future-proof architecture, dual CEPT-E1 network interfaces and full executive customization, including self-programming personalized handsets, personalized screens and ringtones, and personalized configuration modules. In addition, the Simphone¯ Chorus system also provides Wi-Fi functionality.

"Aimed at helping executive aircraft operators make the most of their current airborne telephone investment, the TrueNorth Trade-Up Program also helps US companies take advantage of the federal Economic Stimulus Act of 2008, which could save thousands more in tax credits on business equipment purchased this year," said TrueNorth CEO Mark van Berkel. "It's also another way to help corporate executives upgrade their communications capabilities to the state of the art."

The Simphone (pronounced 'Symphony') airborne telephone is an executive-class system that sports advanced functionality and an impressive array of personalization features. With an open architecture designed to avoid obsolescence; network interfaces for Inmarsat, Iridium and broadband; single-LRU size; and auto-programming IP/Multimedia handsets, the all-digital Simphone is marketed as an ideal replacement for aging MagnaStar systems.

Options include self-contained ACARS/AFIS datalink, Iridium fax, a legacy Satcom interface and embedded Wi-Fi capability
