Lufthansa Buys 12 CRJ900s

Bombardier Gets Some Good News For The Holidays

Bombardier Aerospace has announced that Deutsche Lufthansa AG has signed a firm order to acquire 12 Bombardier CRJ900 regional jets for its regional airline network. The value of the contract was not disclosed.

"We are delighted that Lufthansa has chosen the CRJ900 airliner to fill its requirements for larger regional aircraft. We are very proud of our long-standing relationship with Lufthansa, one of the world’s most respected airlines," said Steven Ridolfi, President, Bombardier Regional Aircraft. "Our partnership in regional aviation has helped grow both of our companies into the leadership positions we enjoy today."

"Given the current market conditions, the CRJ Series is ideally suited for today and for the future," said Mr. Ridolfi. "The Bombardier CRJ900 aircraft combines excellent performance and passenger comfort with, by far, the lowest seat-mile operating costs in its class."

Lufthansa has been a Bombardier CRJ Series customer since 1992 when its Lufthansa CityLine regional airline became the first airline in the world to operate the pioneering 50-seat Bombardier CRJ100 aircraft.

Lufthansa joins another customer in Europe, Styrian Spirit of Graz, Austria to become the latest CRJ900 operator.
